Growths, Lesions and Scars
There are many types of skin lesion, both benign and malignant.
I am happy to remove most of them.
I specialise in reconstruction after facial skin cancer, including the use of local flaps and skin grafts.
In my NHS practice, I am the plastic surgeon on the PROC clinic for complex reconstruction following skin cancer.
I also perform scar revisions for poor scarring.
A selection of my patients are shown below.
Sebaceous cyst
Excision of a lump from the scalp. The lesion was a large sebaceous/pilar cyst.
Vascular malformation
Excision of a small vascular malformation from the lower lip. A simple procedure under local anaesthetic (awake).
BCC Basal Cell Carcinoma
Excision of a Basal Cell Carcinoma (Rodent Ulcer) from the temple and reconstruction with a small local skin flap.
BCC Basal Cell Carcinoma
Excision of Basal Cell carcinoma (BCC) from the tip of the nose. Reconstruction was with a full thickness skin graft. Graft has settled well with time. Please click the picture to see the early appearances.
Sebacous Cyst
I removed this very large cyst from this gentleman's scalp under local anaesthetic. The resulting scar is thin and not easily seen, unlike the cyst.
Seborrhoeic Keratosis
Seb K's are easily removed and leave minimal scarring. I removed this lady's under local anaesthetic.
Scar Revision
This gentleman had a raised scar following an accident some years previously. I have managed to make it much less noticeable by performing a plastic surgical scar revision. I often undertake these cases following personal injury claims.
Lipoma on Forehead
A simple Lipoma on the forehead. I have excised this under local anaesthetic. The scar is placed in a skin crease and will fade with time.
